Paul began his advertising career as a junior copywriter at TBWA. In the following years he moved to Deutsch Advertising, NY, where he was promoted to Associate Creative Director. Following a number of self-written and directed commercials for IKEA as well as Presidential candidate Bill Clinton, both of which had captured industry and public attention, Paul pursued a career in directing commercials exclusively.
He has directed commercials on every continent, for a wealth of brands including AT&T, Sprint, Ford, General Motors, Volkswagen, Land Rover, Electricité du France; Bayer AG, Kraft, Merrill Lynch, General Electric, Visa, McDonalds, Proctor & Gamble, U.S Department of Health and Human Services, Philips Norelco, L’Oreal, Almay, HBSC, Capitol One, Aer Lingus, Budweiser, Tiger Beer, Diageo Spirits; Baileys and Captain Morgan’s, Beeline, MTS; PepsiCo brands including Pepsi and Chudo; amongst many other service, consumer and packaged goods brands.
Awards include Cannes Lions, 3 gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze; AICP MOMA, D&AD, London International, BTAA, Communication Arts Annual, Kinsale Gold and Silver; amongst many other awards. Paul was one of three nominated for the first ever British Director’s Guild award for Television Commercials.
